A woman has been arrested after a violent incident reportedly occurred at the home of NBA player Zion Williamson in Louisiana.
According to WSDU 6 News, Ahkeema Love, 31, was taken into custody on Monday (April 7). Love, the alleged romantic partner of Williamson, is accused of attacking one of the athlete’s other love interests who was at the residence last month. Law enforcement claims Love entered the residence, grabbed the victim’s hair, punched her with keys, egged the home, and fled the scene.
Police reported the unnamed victim had lacerations on her face, as well as multiple torn-off fingernails.
Love appeared in Jefferson Parish Magistrate Court on Tuesday morning, where the victim confirmed they had both been dating the same man, per Nola.com. Authorities did not officially identify the man as Williamson in court. According to the Assistant District Attorney, Ralph Alexis, Love and the man had a child together last month. Love reportedly had keys to the home, however, she was not allowed on the premises.
“Don’t worry. It’s going to be your head next when I drop this baby. Count your days,” Love allegedly wrote to the victim on social media. She ended the message with a smiley-face emoji, which her lawyer, Brian Capitelli, claimed to indicate “joviality,” Nola.com reported. Capitelli requested a low bond amount for Love, as she is a stay-at-home parent.
Love had a bond set at $50,000 for three counts of home invasion, aggravated battery, and stalking. She was also ordered to turn in a pistol she owned and to stay away from the unidentified victim.
