Xzibit is taking steps to officially change his marital status while his contentious divorce battle drags on.
The rapper and former Pimp My Ride host recently filed paperwork seeking to have his divorce from estranged wife Krista Joiner legalized, allowing him to be recognized as a single man under the law.
Xzibit’s filing argues that the two have been separated for more than four years. The move comes amid a bitter legal dispute between the former couple, centered around child support and alimony demands that have yet to be settled.

Krista Joiner is seeking a significant increase in financial support, requesting an additional $30,000 per month from Xzibit. She claims that under their current arrangement, she has been unable to maintain the lavish lifestyle she and their son were accustomed to during the marriage.
According to court documents, Joiner stated that she and her son were forced to vacate their 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom home because they could no longer afford the $10,000 monthly rent and are struggling to cover other high-end expenses such as designer clothing.

Joiner, who is seeking an increase in child support to just over $9,000 per month and an increase in spousal support to over $21,000 per month, has blasted Xzibit for seemingly prioritizing his new girlfriend over his family, alleging that he’d “rather spend his money on his girlfriend’s luxury car” than pay for his son’s school tuition.
In addition to an increase in child and spousal support, Joiner is also requesting $300,000 in attorney fees, as well as $750,000, a court determined Xzibit owes Joiner for past missed payments.
Despite the heated back-and-forth, the trial date for the divorce proceedings is set for June.
