Yak Gotti Found Not Guilty On All Charges In YSL RICO Trial

In a dramatic turn of events, rapper Yak Gotti, born Deamonte Kendrick, has been acquitted of all charges, including a murder charge, in the high-profile YSL RICO case.

On Tuesday (Dec. 3), a jury in Fulton County delivered a not guilty verdict on all counts, marking a significant legal victory for the 27-year-old rapper, who had been facing serious allegations tied to the criminal activities of Young Thug‘s Young Slime Life (YSL) crew.

Yak Gotti was arrested in May 2022 alongside fellow YSL affiliates, including Young Thug and Gunna, and was indicted on RICO charges for his alleged involvement in gang-related activities in Georgia.

The charges included accusations of murder, racketeering, and other violent crimes. However, after a lengthy trial, the jury found Gotti not guilty on all counts.

Shannon Stillwell, the only other defendant remaining in the case, was found guilty of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon but was acquitted of two counts of murder. He was sentenced to time served and probation, effectively bringing an end to the longest-running trial in Georgia state history.

Before the verdict, Yak Gotti faced a harrowing situation while incarcerated in Fulton County Jail. Days prior to the verdict, he was the victim of a stabbing but was treated for minor injuries and is expected to fully recover, according to his lawyer.

Young Thug, the alleged head of YSL, previously plead guilty to all charges, excluding racketeering and being a gang leader, as part of a plea deal with the prosecution.

Under the agreement, Young Thug received a 20-year prison sentence, which includes time served and 15 years of probation, and has since been released from custody.
