Moana 2 made its way to Los Angeles on Monday (Nov. 25).
Tia Mowry, Nick Cannon, Mario Lopez, Eva Longoria, and more brought out their little ones to the West Coast premiere, held at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood. The highly-anticipated sequel follows Moana journeying to the “far seas of Oceania for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced after receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors.”
Cannon was accompanied by Brittany Bell—mother to three of his children: Golden Sagon, Powerful Queen, and Rise Messiah. Zaya Wade brought along her little sister, Kaavia James, for a rare girls night out.
Ahead of the film’s release on Wednesday, El Capitan will host early screenings starting on Tuesday.
The world premiere was held in Hawaii on Thursday (Nov. 21) with stars Auli’i Cravalho (who voices Moana), Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (who voices Maui) and more in tow to celebrate the beloved film. The sequel reunites Moana and Maui three years after the first installment. Rachel House, Temuera Morrison, Nicole Scherzinger and more also reprise their roles.
When speaking on the sequel, Cravalho told Deadline, “I lived this. I am from Hawaii. I’m of native Hawaiian descent, and I know how important this character is for young women and young men. I am as much of a fan of this character as anyone else.”
